Hoofddorp, April 2025 – Claus Events proudly welcomes Stephen Wagenaar (35) as its new Sales Manager. With his years of experience in the hospitality and events industry, Stephen brings fresh energy and expertise to the Claus Events sales team.
An extensive career in hospitality
Stephen began his career at the age of fifteen and has since explored virtually every corner of the hospitality world. From working in various kitchens and front-of-house roles to leading events and catering operations, his passion for hospitality has always remained central. For seven years, he successfully ran his own catering business before transitioning into sales. In that role, he worked for four years at various companies, always with a strong focus on high-quality hospitality, culinary excellence, and unique events.
“I’m bringing my experience in both operational and commercial roles to Claus Events,” says Stephen. “Since August 2024, I’ve been working here with great pleasure. Together with the sales team, I want to organize top-level corporate events and build strong client relationships.”
A family business with a unique atmosphere
What immediately stood out to Stephen at Claus Events was the warm and open culture. “It’s a family business in the truest sense of the word. You feel it in everything—from the open-door policy to colleagues who’ve been here since their internships. There’s a real team spirit, and that’s what makes Claus Events unique. It’s all about experience and quality here, and I’m fully committed to that.”

A passion for cooking and the outdoors
Outside of his work at Claus Events, Stephen is a passionate cook and barbecue enthusiast. “Give me a summer day, a barbecue, and some good ingredients, and I’ll happily spend hours experimenting with rubs, slow cooking, and smoking.” In his free time, he enjoys playing padel and spending as much time as possible with his girlfriend and their two sons, Teddy and James. “Sharing good food and drinks together—that’s the ultimate ‘Burgundian’ happiness for me.”
With the arrival of Stephen Wagenaar, Claus Events takes another step in strengthening its position as a leading venue for corporate events. His expertise and enthusiasm make him a valuable addition to the team.
